More Companies Offer Egg-Free Foods!

In response to consumer demand, a growing number of companies are taking steps to remove their support from the cruel battery cage industry and offering more vegan options.

Other Companies

In addition to companies such as Tofurky and Garden Protein, which don't use eggs in any of their products, other companies are taking steps to remove their support from the cruel egg industry:

2006: Gardenburger announces its compassionate decision to remove eggs from all of its products, except one private-line item.

2007: After Compassion Over Killing and Vegan Outreach teamed up to launch a campaign urging Morningstar Farms to stop using eggs, the company announced its plan of reducing its use of eggs by a minimum of one million in 2008 while also introducing new vegan options.

2009 UPDATE from Morningstar Farms: Morningstar Farms has committed to reducing its egg usage by an estimated 500,000 eggs in 2009, which is in addition to the already 1 million fewer eggs in 2008.

2008: Compassion Over Killing initiated discussions with Lightlife Foods about the growing demand for egg-free options, and the company was incredibly responsive. In December, it announced plans to reduce its use of eggs by at least 166,000 in 2009 and offer three new vegan options this spring.

2009 UPDATE from Lightlife: Egg whites are being removed from two more Lightlife products.  Both our Veggie burger and Mushroom burgers are being converted to vegan products with a completion date of June 1, 2009.

2009: CAMPAIGN VICTORY: March 2009, BOCA commits to stop using eggs in all of its products by the end of 2009!
